Representative Office in Moscow for the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission (TMECC) Attends the Signing Ceremony for two Agreements of Cooperation on Physical Education between National Taiwan Normal University and the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism

Representative Office in Moscow for the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission (TMECC) Attends the Signing Ceremony for two Agreements of Cooperation on Physical Education between National Taiwan Normal University and the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism

On October 26, William Lu, Secretary at the Education Division of the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission (TMECCC) accompanied a delegation from National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) to Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism (SCOLIPE) to sign two bilateral agreements on cooperation on physical education.
The key members of the NTNU delegation were Prof. Chang Kuo-En, the President, Prof. Cheng Chih-fu, the Executive Vice President, Prof. Chang Shao-hsi, Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Yu Kuang-Chao, Vice President from the Office of International Affairs, and six other NTNU colleagues who work in the physical education field. The main purpose of their visit to SCOLIPE was to personally visit the campus, and to sign agreements of cooperation on physical education, and on student and faculty exchanges. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Russian university staff, and first taken on a 1.5-hour campus tour, escorted by Evgeniy Morozov, Director of the International Department at SCOLIPE.
This was followed by the signing ceremony for the two agreements. The atmosphere was pleasant and cheerful, and both sides made remarks expressing what they expected and desired from the cooperation that was being entered into. Prof. Chang invited the Rector to visit NTNU next year, and the Rector responded by inviting Prof. Chang to join in the festival to celebrate SCOLIPE’s 100-year anniversary next May.
The Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism (SCOLIPE) is the largest institution of higher education in Russia focusing on physical culture and sports. So far it has trained and educated more than 50,000 specialists in related fields, including about 4,000 foreign professionals from 115 countries. The university boasts more than 140 Olympic, European, and World champions among its graduates. It currently has approximately 5,000 students, including about 200 foreign students. NTNU would like to expand cooperation with SCOLIPE in the fields of weightlifting, gymnastics, and powerlifting.
