How do overseas compatriot students apply to be enrolled in schools?

  1. Overseas Chinese senior high school graduates intending to study in Taiwan universities (PSOCS) may submit application to the nearest referral organization commissioned by the OCAC in accordance with the Rules Governing Enrollment and Guidance of Overseas Chinese Students. The OCAC will relay the application to the OJRC for it to assign the student to a school for enrollment. Applicants shall read carefully the issues needing req u iring special attention as detailed in the recruitment pamphlet prepared by the OJRC.

  2. Overseas Chinese intending to be enrolled in Taiwan 's primary, secondary schools, five-year junior colleges, and vocational schools shall apply to the Overseas Chinese Students Office of the OCAC for referral in accordance with the Guidelines for Review of Overseas Chinese Applying for Enrollment and Referral. The OCAC shall refer applicants to the educational regulatory authority for admission. 1. Applicants shall file an application with the OCAC within one (1) year following arrival with applicable papers attached. 2. In principle, applicants shall be assigned to the day school of a public school. Overage applicants may apply to be admitted to an extension school. 3. Each student can apply for referral to be admitted to a school only once. Those intending to be enrolled in five-year junior colleges and vocational schools have to complete the process by the end of the first third of the first semester. Those applying to be admitted to senior high schools shall be assigned to the National Overseas Chinese Experimental Senior High School .

  3. Students that have graduated from overseas foreign universities or colleges (recognized by the MOE) with master's or bachelor's degrees who intend to study in Taiwan 's graduate schools may apply to the overseas referral organization commissioned by the OCAC nearest them. The OCAC will relay applications to the universities and colleges for approval. Once the school approves the application, the student may come go to the school to study. Applicants shall read carefully the issues needing requiring special attention as detailed in the recruitment pamphlet prepared by the universities. Overseas Chinese students who have graduated from Taiwan universities and colleges who intend to study in Taiwan 's graduate schools shall receive the same treatment as their Taiwan counterparts.
