Will the separation of enrollment from testing of students of polytechnics and vocational schools impact the opportunities for students to seek higher education?

Beginning in the 2001 school year, separation of enrollment from testing of entrance exams for four-year polytechnics, two-year junior colleges and polytechnics was introduced to reduce the number of exams and raise the opportunity of admission. Since then, graduating and non-graduating students have had to take only one joint entrance exam in order to be considered for admission through a variety of methods, which not only eases the burden on students, but also raises the quality of the entrance exam and facilitate its operations. Students with special status will continue to enjoy the preferential treatment after the switch.
