In order to promote the use of standard fonts, the Ministry of Education is releasing its standard font files for commercial use. For any vendors wishing to apply for authorization to use them, please attach all the relevant documents and statements of use and endorse the statement letter (available in PDF or Word format) and mail the entire application package to the National Languages Committee, Ministry of Education ( 2F , No. 172, Section 1, Zhongxiao E. Rd, Chungshan District, Taipei City).

Kai Style (2005.10) - Kai Style Font File by the Ministry of Education

This file is open to the public. Prior application with the National Language Committee, Ministry of Education is required for commercial use.

Kai Style (DOS Version) - Standard Kai Style, Standard Song Style and Fong Style Fonts

  1. This file is the result of efforts by the Ministry of Education for font standardization.
  2. This file is applicable to the DOS environment.
  3. This file is open to public use. (However, a direct application with the National Languages Committee, Ministry of Education is required for commercial use.)
  4. Please refer to readme.doc file for the user manual and explanations on user rights.
  5. The intellectual property of the driver for this file belongs to DynaLab. An NT$15 royalty is required for each driver. Any users should pay the royalty to DynaLab by wiring the money to the following accunt:

  1. This font is the fourth result the efforts by the Ministry of Education for font standardization.
  2. This file only includes a set of frequently used characters, totaling 4,808.
  3. This file is applicable to WIN95 or above.
  4. This file is open to public use. (However, a direct application with the National Languages Committee, Ministry of Education is required for commercial use.)

Additions to Song Style - Standard Song Style Additions by the Ministry of Education

  1. This file is the result of efforts by the Ministry of Education for font standardization.
  2. This font file is True type in BIG-5 code and applicable to WIN95.
  3. Standard Song Style 2, Ministry of Education: Code Area A440 to C 9A 7.
  4. Standard Song Punctuations, Ministry of Education: Code Area A440 to A878.
  5. The additions of symbols and fonts include CNS 11643 :
  6. This first character set consists of symbols 1-2121 to 1 -4241 in the symbol zone.
  7. The fourth to seventh character sets and the fifteenth character set are already included in the ISO 10646 standards (Extension A).
