2008 Ceremony to Confer Badges of Rank on Military Training Instructors Promoted to a Higher Rank
The ceremony, presided over by Minister of Education Cheng Jei-cheng, was held on July 1, 2008. A total of 134 military training instructors attended the ceremony (10 were promoted to the rank of colonel, 62 to lieutenant colonel and 62 to major). A badge of rank was conferred on each one of them by the minister or by guests of honor. Being promoted to a higher rank is the greatest honor a serviceman can receive and a recognition of their work. After the ceremony, a group photograph was taken of the minister and all the newly-promoted servicemen. The minister congratulated them and their families and expressed his thanks for what they have done for the country.
