Paintball Competition - An Entertaining Approach to National Defense Education
In line with the promulgation and implementation of the National Defense Education Act and the Civil Defense Mobilization Reserve Act, the Ministry of Education has reinstituted the weapons training for students that was stopped 11 years ago. This is the third year since it was resumed in the 2006 school year.

In addition to weapons training, other activities have also been planned in accordance with the geographic location, environmental features, culture, and particular traits of each school. The activities, including beach cleaning, lifeboat operation demonstration, training in use of firefighting equipment, CPR training, exhibition of coastguard reconnaissance equipment, onshore rescue, and hiking events, were designed to reinforce the basics of national defense education.

To maximize the effectiveness of national defense education, the Ministry has organized paintball competitions to teach students basic tactics and combat skills through group confrontations. In simulated battles students learn about leadership as well as how to cope with battlefield pressure and establish national defense concepts.
