Taipei Jingmei Girls High School Performs in Kuala Lumpur International Marching Band Competition
Taipei Jingmei Girls High School was invited to perform in the opening ceremony performance for the 2015 Kuala Lumpur International Youth Marching Band Competition in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in June. The competition took place between 22 youth marching bands in Merdeka Square (Independence Square) in Kuala Lumpur on June 9. These 22 bands from schools in each state nationwide qualified for the competition by being the champion and 1st runner up in their state in the qualifying round. A marching band from a Viet Nam high school also took part in the competition.
The competition was jointly organized by Malaysia’s Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Federal Territories, and Kuala Lumpur City Hall. Its aim is to nurture students’ leadership skills, self-discipline, and positive attitude, and to serve as a platform to enhance international exchanges for young people.
