Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh held Taiwan Culture, Food, study in Taiwan Seminars, and a Mini Job Fair at Can Tho University in Vietnam

Date:
The Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh recently held two Taiwan Culture, Food, & Study in Taiwan Seminars, and a mini Job Fair at Can Tho University in Vietnam, as part of the university’s “2016 Can Tho Youth Day” on April 2.

This is a leading multidisciplinary university in the Mekong Delta area and 2016 Can Tho Youth Day attracted over 30,000 students, so this was an excellent opportunity to promote Taiwan and its education system, and to assist Taiwanese enterprises operating in Vietnam to recruit staff.

The Education Division held two seminars introducing Taiwan’s education system, culture, and food, which attracted over 500 students. Taking a very practical approach, the Education Division had requested a Taiwanese business to sell Taiwanese food to give the students a “taste of Taiwan” and this left positive impressions.

As part of Can Tho Youth Day, Can Tho University arranged to hold a Job Application Seminar in the university auditorium, for about 1,000 of its graduates, so the Education Division requested permission to set up a mini Taiwan job fair, just outside the auditorium. After the job fair, the Taiwanese businessmen who had participated met with the university vice rector and with the deans of colleges and schools at the university in fields of direct relevance to their different businesses, to discuss their staff recruitment needs and potential further cooperation. The seminars and mini job fair held at Can Tho University were a great success.
