Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia visits Taiwan

Professor Datuk Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali is the tenth vice-chancellor of UKM, which is one of the five best research universities in Malaysia, and the purpose of the visit was to enhance academic collaboration and students' mobility between UKM and higher education institutions in Taiwan.
During his 8-day stay Professor Datuk Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali visited government agencies, officials, institutions, and universities such as National Taiwan University, National Taipei University, and Tamkang University.
He gave a presentation on "Fitting A National University with National Aspirations: Redefining Roles of University" at National Taiwan University and shared his experience and expertise regarding the development of higher education in his meetings with representatives of universities in Taiwan.
As well as his outstanding career in the education field, Professor Datuk Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali is also a well-known economist in Malaysia. He has been actively participating in national level strategic initiatives, including the Blue Ocean Strategy Study on Macro Strategic Directions, the New Sources of Growth Initiative of the Economic Council, the formulation of strategic directions, and the development of an outcome-based framework for the 10th Malaysia Plan. He is a Commonwealth Fellow of the Financial, Economics and Banking Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and a Mason Fellow of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
During his stay, he also paid a courtesy visit to the Office of Trade Negotiations of the Executive Yuan where he was warmly welcomed by Bill Chen K.M, assistant to the Chief Negotiator and Deputy Chief Negotiator on Relevant Matters. They discussed Taiwan’s New Southward Policy and proposals for future bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
