Universities from Taiwan take part in the 2015 Global Fair of the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden

Date:
Mr. Leo Lee, the Representative at the Taipei Mission in Sweden and Mr. Frank Chen, the acting Director of the Education Division there were invited by the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) to attend its 2015 Global Fair on September 23. Two universities in Taiwan– National Chiao Tung University and National Cheng Kung University – were among the 24 universities from 13 countries that were invited to take part in this educational fair and present information to offer to potential international students. The others included the University of Tokyo, Iowa State University, the National University of Singapore, Aalto University in Finland, and KU Leuven in Belgium. All the participating universities have partnerships with Sweden’s Royal Institute of Technology.

A stream of approximately four or five hundred Swedish students visited the Study in Taiwan stand at the Global Fair, and representatives of National Cheng Kung University and Chiao Tung University answered their many questions about such things as Taiwan’s education system, options for studying there, English teaching programs in Taiwan, and about Taiwan’s people, culture, and environment. They also took away pamphlets about studying there.

Sweden has great the strength in the design and innovation field so Taiwan’s Representative in Sweden, Leo Lee, is assisting universities in Taiwan to explore further exchange programs with Swedish universities. On September 22 Prof. Huang Yueh-Min, the Vice President for International Affairs at National Cheng Kung University met with a Royal Institute of Technology representative to discuss cooperation between these two universities.
