Eurasian Club System (ECS) Delegation from Russia Visits the MOE Youth Development Administration
At the end of January, 2018, a delegation of Eurasian Club System (ECS), a Russian non-government organization (NGO), visited the Youth Development Administration (YDA), of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan). This was the first time that this Russian youth organization has visited the Ministry and the 13-member delegation received a warm welcome.
During the meeting, the visitors briefed the YDA about the ECS, and its close ties and active projects with partner universities from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, Central Europe, Great Britain, and Southeast Asia. They also talked about the World Festival of Youth and Students. ECS also works with Russian government agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Rossotrudnichestvo (the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation) and has also taken part in projects of the United Nations, UNESCO, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
The Eurasian Club System is a non-profit organization and non-governmental organization in the Russian Federation that works to create a platform of economic, political, cultural, and educational cooperation for youth in the CIS region and APEC countries. It focuses on interaction between young diplomats and students and looks forward to developing such cooperation with Taiwan.
The ECS expressed interest in proposing cooperation with Taiwanese organizations, in the fields of organizing international educational cooperation, and humanitarian programs. The YDA replied that it will study the possibility of inviting the ECS to participate in the annual Global Youth Trends Forum, and of initiating bilateral youth start-up project exchanges as a first cooperative undertaking.
