Promoting ‘Study in Taiwan’ at the Global Programs Fair at the Australian National University

Dr. Aaron Chen, executive director of the Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia took part in the ANU Global Programs Fair 2019 in its Athenaeum room of the ANU School of Music on April 5. The Fair provides an opportunity for education attaches at diplomatic missions in Canberra to engage with ANU students interested in studying abroad and provide them with information and advice.

Representatives of 15 diplomatic posts, 23 other universities, four local colleges, and 40 student organizations participated in this year’s ANU Global Programs Fair, and according to the organizer – the Global Programs team of the ANU’s Division of Student Administration – more than 600 ANU students went along to learn about the opportunities available to internationalize their degrees.

Dr. Chen welcomed all the ANU students who were interested in studying in Taiwan and told them about Taiwan’s higher education. He encouraged the students to apply for MOE scholarships to learn Mandarin or to study for a degree in Taiwan, and he assured them that universities in Taiwan definitely provide support to help international students settle into their programs.

Dr. Chen welcomes the seven faculties at the ANU – The Faculties of Arts, Asian Studies, Economics & Commerce, Engineering & Computer Science, Law, and Science, and the School of Medicine – establishing more bilateral educational ties with Taiwan, and he said that the Education Division of TECO in Australia will continue to offer them assistance to find appropriate programs in Taiwan with which they can engage in a wide variety of cross-border educational exchanges.
