Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City holds TOCFL Test

People sit for the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) to assess their Chinese proficiency, whether for eligibility for university admission, to apply for a scholarship, or simply out of curiosity.

The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City has been administering the TOCFL tests for many years now. The tests are administered in various cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Can Tho, and Dong Thap, and over 2,000 people apply to sit the tests each year.

It was originally planned to hold the tests about 12 times each year; however, there was a large demand to hold more the tests during the summer time, and in response the Education Division organized three sessions in August for students who were preparing to go to Taiwan for the rapidly approaching academic year. The TOCFL tests were held at Dong Thap University in Dong Thap City, and Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City, on August 15, 24, and 25. This was the most intensive TOCFL testing period so far: about 515 students applied to take the test. 

As well as the scheduled tests, the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City also sometimes assist Taiwanese businesses in Vietnam South of Da Nang to administer the test especially for their staff.
