Taiwan Alumni & Taiwan Students Associations Reunion in San Francisco

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco held a Reunion of Taiwan Alumni & Taiwan Students Associations on September 7.

A total of 38 people attended, including Taiwan Scholarship recipients, Huayu Scholarship recipients, Fulbright Scholars, and members of Taiwan Students Associations from various campuses. Joseph Ma, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, welcomed everyone and encouraged them to share details their Taiwan experiences to enhance public diplomacy between the U.S. and Taiwan.

Serena Calcagno, who now works at the University of San Francisco, talked about her Taiwanese experience and said that Taiwan changed her life. Dr. Green, an associate professor at San Francisco State University, said that he is always surprised by some new feature every time he visits this island.

The participants mingled and shared their ideas about ways to connect Taiwan and the US. It was an inspiring event and everyone who took part looks forward to seeing this tradition continue.
