French Ministry of Education Officials Offer 4 Scholarships To Outstanding Taiwan High School Students.

Under the invitation of the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan), French education officials are traveling to Taiwan for an historic first time visit, from April 4-10, 2005, for the purpose presenting 4 tuition free scholarships to four outstanding Taiwan high school students. These scholarships will allow the students from Taiwan to study in France for a period of two years.

French Ministry of Education official Mr. Alexis Rinckenbach, Mr. Joel H. Vallat, Principal of the Louis le Grand High School and Mr. Pierre Feral, Principal of the Malherbe High School, will visit the Affiliated High School of the National Taiwan Normal University, the National Taichung First Senior High School, the Dazhi High School, the Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung High School, Institute Francais in order to promote the French Ministry of Education’s overseas study programs for Taiwan's students.

Informational speeches will be given to high school students at the Affiliated High School, of the National Taiwan Normal University, the Taichung First Senior High School and the Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung High School explaining the French "Classes Preparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles" policies for Taiwan's students. These preparatory classes have been designed to assist high school students from Taiwan, who are interested in attending institutions of higher learning, in France for the first time. French school representatives will select four students who show exceptional promise in the areas of mathematics and physics, and offer them free tuition for their two years of study in France.

During their stay in Taiwan, they will visit some of Taiwan's more notable historic and cultural sites, in order to introduce the many rich and beautiful sights that Taiwan has to offer to its international friends and visitors.
