The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Paraguay Holds Virtual Orientation for Taiwan Scholarship Recipients
The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) held a virtual orientation for this year’s recipients of scholarships provided by Taiwan who will engage in undergraduate or postgraduate studies in various areas or Chinese-Mandarin language studies at universities in Taiwan.
This year, the Government of Taiwan offered 40 scholarships to study for a bachelor’s degree, master's degree, or doctorate, nine scholarships to undertake Chinese language study, and two International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) scholarships to undertake a master's degree, or doctorate program.
The Education Secretary, Hilario Chen reminded the scholarship recipients about all the items and necessary documents that they needed and advised them to check carefully before their departure. He also advised them to take extra care during their trip to Taiwan in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 1991, the Taiwanese government has offered 500 full scholarships to young people in Paraguay, and around 150 students have returned to Paraguay with an academic degree.
