Online Study in Taiwan Seminar at University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University

Dr. Nicole Yen-Yi Lee, Director General of the Department of International and Cross-strait Education of the Ministry of Education in Taiwan encouraged students to study in Taiwan

On March 27, 2021 the Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam held an online Study in Taiwan Seminar at the University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University (VNU-ULIS). The seminar began with a short pre-recorded video of welcome and encouraging remarks for the students made by Dr. Nicole Yen-Yi Lee, Director General of the Department of International and Cross-strait Education of the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. This was followed by welcome remarks from Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh, the vice rector of the university. This was followed by three presentations. The first, an Introduction of Taiwanese Investments in Vietnam and the Contact Taiwan Website, was given by Mr. Tseng Hsien-Chao, Director of the Economic Division at TECO in Vietnam.

The second, What University Graduates Need to Know – Advice from the Head of a Taiwanese Company in Vietnam, was given by Mr. Hong Chi-Hua, President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi. The third presentation, on Studying in Taiwan and Taiwanese Government Scholarships, was given by Chu To-Ming, Director of the Education Division at TECO in Vietnam, and then Dr. Hoa Ngoc Son, Director of the Foreign Language Training Department at the university gave a presentation about the Taiwan Education Information Office at VNU-ULIS. Following this, Dr. Son invited a Taiwanese alumni from the university to share her thoughts about her experiences studying in Taiwan. About 250 students took part in the online seminar and doing the Q&A session, many asked for more details of the Huayu Enrichment Scholarships and Taiwan Scholarships and about opportunities to do internships in Taiwan.
