A second workshop on artificial intelligence was held in early July, 2022, hosted by Taipei Municipal Zhong-Zheng Senior High School in conjunction with National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) and Siemens Taiwan. For the first time, the workshop participants included students from Moscow Municipal School No. 1293 in Russia, with the assistance of the Education Division at the Representative Office in Moscow for the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission (TMECCC).

The Russian school’s participation was a concrete outcome of an online meeting between the two schools held in late June to discuss the possibility of interaction in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields.

During the workshop, the students from Zhong-Zheng Senior High gave presentations in English on projects on the following themes: *AI Smart Puzzles, * AI Automation Laboratory, * AI Visual-Recognized Automated Cars, and * Prediction of Flow of People in the Metro Stations. A student from Moscow Municipal School No. 1293 gave an online presentation on a Telegram-Bot for Tennis Schools. The demonstrations demonstrated the students’ excellence in combining expertise in algorithms, data science, biometric recognition, and programming languages. The participating Russian teachers spoke highly of the capabilities and directions shown by the Taiwanese students’ AI projects and said that they looked forward to joint cooperation in AI fields in the future.

The online workshop was the first step toward more such cooperation, and the Education Division is working hard to use this as a working model to expand cooperation between other schools in the Commonwealth of Independent States region and schools in Taiwan.
