The Taiwan booth attracted many student

India’s FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) Higher Education Summit 2022 was held at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi, from November 17 to November 19, 2022. This 17th Higher Education Summit held by FICCI was the first physical summit since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The overall theme of the Higher Education Summit was: Global Destination for Higher Education: Advantage INDIA. It was formally opened with an address by Dr. Subhash Sarkar, Minister of State for Education of the Government of India. 
Taiwan once again took part in the Higher Education Summit and the Taiwan Education Center in India organized a booth in the Exhibition area. 
Dr. Mumin Chen, Deputy Representative at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, and Mr. Peters Chen, Director of the Education Division there, were invited to take part in a panel discussion on Developing World Class Universities: The Imperatives, held on the second morning of the Summit. The panelists focused on three aspects: 1. The definition and indicators of a world class university; 2. strategies and pathways for establishing world class universities, and 3. what the lessons are from other world class universities, especially from newly organized global universities in Asia. They all agreed that exchange programs and joint degree programs will play key roles in developing world-class universities.
Peters Chen also interacted with diplomatic personnel from various embassies, vice chancellors and professors from a number of Indian universities—the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (known as IIT Roorkee), GD Goenka University, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), and Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) —during the Summit.
The Taiwan booth attracted many students. The personnel at the booth, including representatives of National Chengchi University and National Tsing Hua University, answered many questions about higher education opportunities available in Taiwan and encouraged students to apply for Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarships to study for a degree there, and Huayu Enrichment Scholarships to undertake language studies in Taiwan. They also provided information about the Taiwan Employment Gold Card, a 4-in-1 card for highly skilled foreign professionals. It comprises a resident visa, a work permit, an Alien Resident Certificate, and a re-entry permit that allows the holder to leave and re-enter Taiwan multiple times for up to three years. 
Education Division Director Peters Chen visited the Taiwan booth and spoke with the students and university representatives there. He also spoked with representatives of Indian universities and representatives of various private companies promoting educational materials at their respective booths in the exhibition area.
