HYPE GVA Taiwan officially kicks off its 10th training cycle

HYPE GVA Taiwan's 10th Cycle Kickoff bootcamp was grandly held with TaiSPO

  HYPE Global Virtual Accelerator Taiwan was jointly set up by the Sports Administration and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Total 11 teams from Canada, Switzerland, Ukraine, India, South Korea and Taiwan were selected for the program’s latest training cycle onsite by sports industry scholars and mentors at Taiwan Startup Hub on May 30, 2023 from 60 domestic and foreign sports innovation teams from 22 countries around the world.

The program’s 10th training cycle will begin two and a half months of training, adopting both physical activities and simultaneous online teaching. As well as the professional international commerce courses brought by the HYPE international mentor team, partners including the Innovative and Design Division of Decathlon Taiwan, Taiwan Mobile and World Masters Games 2025 Taipei & New Taipei City Organizing Committee have been invited to jointly nurture this cycle’s innovation teams. The aim of the courses is to provide matching opportunities for enterprise resources, industrial linkage and product demonstration.

As well as selection, on the day of the activity, a discussion meeting and sharing by teams that have graduated from previous cycle were arranged, with Marco Villela of the Innovation Footwear Designer at DECATHLON Taiwan sharing sports technology innovation and industry trend development; as for graduating teams, founder of Feebees, which has gained carbon footprint certification from the British Standards Institution (BSI), from the 6th training cycle, Chen Gu-ming, and CEO of Canada’s Bolt Sports, which has developed an innovative ice hockey training device, from the 9th training cycle, Eric Eustace, engaged in exchange with the latest cycle’s startup teams.

  The Sports Administration said that, now in its 10th training cycle, HYPE GVA Taiwan has achieved outstanding results in terms of nurturing sports innovative teams and creating value. This cycle will also be combined with ASPN (APEC Sports Policy Network), including various subtropical region partner resources and actively seeking to enhance the international linkage of sport technology innovation teams. HYPE GVA Taiwan will continue with its efforts to take Taiwan’s sports innovation teams out into the world and let the world see Taiwan’s strong sports innovation capability.
