Overseas Consulting Office for Taiwan’s INTENSE Program Opened in Hanoi

On February 20, 2024, Mr. Chu To-Ming, Director of the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam and Mr. Lin Yi-Min, Taiwan’s Deputy Representative in Vietnam, took part in the formal opening of the Overseas Consulting Office in Hanoi for the Ministry of Education's International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (the INTENSE Program), and a ceremony for the signing of three associated MOUs with universities in Taiwan on collaborative training of skilled personnel for the semiconductor industry. 
The new Overseas Consulting Office is located on the campus of Dai Nam University and run by Lunghwa University of Science and Technology. Its opening ceremony and the signing ceremony for the three MOUs was organized by Lunghwa University of Science and Technology and Dai Nam University, with the assistance of Minghsin University of Science and Technology and Kun Shan University. Among the distinguished Vietnamese guests who attended the jubilant occasion were Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Nghe, Deputy Director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Training, and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University-Hanoi. 
Deputy Representative Lin Yi-Min gave a speech in which he outlined the role and functions of the Overseas Consulting Office. He also spoke about Taiwan's high-quality higher education environment and the advantages it has to offer, and the distinctive features of the INTENSE Program. He encouraged Vietnamese students to come forward and apply to study in Taiwan and said that he looks forward to seeing more universities in Taiwan and Vietnam engage insubstantial cooperation and exchanges.
Separate memorandums of understanding on semiconductor industry talent training cooperation were then signed by Dr. Pham Van Hong, the Rector of Dai Nam University: with Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, signed by Dr. Ko Tzu-Hsiang, president of the university; with Minghsin University of Science and Technology, signed by Dr. Liu Kuo-Wei, president of the university; and with Kun Shan University, signed by Dr. Chun Yun Chung, Vice President of Administration. 
After the signing ceremony, the ceremonial opening of the Overseas Consulting Office brought the grand occasion to an excellent conclusion.
