On March 25 and March 26, 2024, Distinguished Professor Jywe Wen-Yuh 覺文郁, the director of the International Industry-University Education Collaboration Alliance; Dr. Ko Tzu-Hsiang 葛自祥, the president of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology; and Dr. Liu Kuo-Wei 劉國偉, the president of Minghsin University of Science and Technology, led a delegation of senior officials representing 12 universities in Taiwan to Thai Nguyen University, Dai Nam University, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology to give presentations and set up exhibitions to promote the INTENSE Program (the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program). The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam assisted the delegation with the coordination and organization of the activities held at Thai Nguyen University, and at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The delegation visited Thai Nguyen University on the afternoon of March 25, accompanied by personnel from the Education Division, and they were welcomed by Dr. Tran Thanh Van, the vice president, and representatives of 11 affiliated universities. The visiting representatives of the 12 universities in Taiwan set up booths where students and faculty members could consult with them. There was a great deal of enthusiasm and interest in the INTENSE Program, and lively discussions took place throughout the afternoon.
The next morning, the delegation gave a briefing at Dai Nam University on the INTENSE Program and how to apply for it. In addition, Dr. Liu and Dr. Ko signed memoranda of cooperation with representatives of 17 Vietnamese universities on behalf of the International Talent Circulation Base-Vietnam, providing a grand conclusion to a successful occasion. Later in the afternoon, another briefing on the INTENSE Program was held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. It attracted nearly 300 students from that university and representatives from 20 other Vietnamese universities and institutions. The participants were all interested and actively engaged, and the success of the event exceeded expectations.
Over 1,000 people attended one of the three events and expressed deep interest in the INTENSE Program, and this indicates that students and teachers at universities in Northern Vietnam recognize the quality of Taiwan's higher education. The members of the delegation all believe that the INTENSE Program will help to further enhance educational collaboration and exchanges between Taiwan and Vietnam.
