Superintendent of Cathay General Hospital, Prof. Dr. Chih-Ming Lin gives lecture in the National University of Asuncion

In May, Dr. Lin Chih-Ming, Superintendent of Cathay General Hospital in Taipei, accompanied by a professional team of doctors and nurses, visited the National University of Asuncion in the Republic of Paraguay to offer humanitarian services to Paraguayans in need.

During their stay in Paraguay, the National University of Asuncion, represented by its rector, Dr. Forilán Enrique Peralta Torres hosted a welcome ceremony for Dr. Lin Chih-Ming and Prof. Dr. Huang Ching-Shui, a former Superintendent of Cathay General Hospital to award them both with special recognition for their valuable work in the service of people’s health care.

Dr. Lin Chih-Ming Lin and Dr. Huang Ching-Shui, specialists in urology and inguinal hernia respectively, also shared some of their valuable medical experience. They gave presentations on two topics: Prevention of Hepatitis B—Case Study of Taiwan, and “Tailored tension-free groin hernia repair based on patient’s MPO pathology and co-morbidity burden, to fellow medical experts at the School of Medicine of the National University of Asuncion, remaining true to their mission to improve the quality of people’s lives.

Public health is one of the pillars of a country, and without doubt, the visit of Dr. Lin and his medical delegation from Cathay General Hospital was a great opportunity to strengthen relations and cooperation in this vital health area, between both the hospital and the National University of Asuncion, and between the Republic of Paraguay and the Republic of China (Taiwan).
