Date:
The 2015 Special Olympics World Games, a sports competition for people with intellectual disabilities, had more than 6,500 athletes from 165 countries, from when it began on July 25 in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum until it concluded on August 2.

Chinese Taipei delegation led by Wang Shui-Wen, deputy director-general of Sports Administration, Ministry of Education receives a warm welcome from the Taiwanese Americans who currently reside in LA. 58 athletes in the fields of aquatics, athletics, badminton, basketball, bocce ball, bowling, and roller skating are touched by the reception prepared by the host town with more than 250 overseas Taiwanese’s involvement at their arrival on July 22. Li-Ling Liang, director of Education Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles joined in this occasion to express the hospitality and great support.

Though only on the third day of competition, the medals they have accumulated include 10 gold, 13 silver and 5 bronze medals. As the spirit of Special Olympics, this game shows a great variety of abilities but not disabilities. We believe they will bring more medals and wish them a great success in the following days.
