Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City holds TOCFL Tests

The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City held the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) tests at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, on April 16, 2017. This is the second time that the TOCFL tests have been held in Ho Chi Minh City itself; 478 students applied, and 458 students actually arrived and sat for the tests.

Mandarin learning is continuing to become popular in Vietnam, and now, over 2000 people apply for the test each year. People sit for the TOCFL tests for a number of reasons. They may need to do so for university admission, or to apply for a Taiwan Scholarship or a Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, or to help them find employment, and some people simply want a reliable assessment of their Chinese proficiency.

For many years the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City has been administering the TOCFL tests about 12 times a year in various parts of Vietnam, in cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Can Tho, and Dong Thap. The Education Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City also sometimes assists Taiwanese business people to administer the test especially for their staff.
