The Program for Building a Leisure Sports Environment was put forward under the policy of Sports for All, Splendid Life. Its main theme was building “ Sports for all implementation strategy or promotion halls”, combining new type gyms, aerobics classrooms, all-age fitness training courses, badminton courts (multi-sport ball courts)and other facilities to enhance the basic fitness of citizens and reduce sports injuries. Also, building all-weather basketball courts and renovating existing facilities to provide a convenient, quality and safe sports environment, encouraging families to do sports together to improve family relations and, moreover, raising people’s life quality, realizing the new vision of “Healthy citizens, outstanding competition, vigorous Taiwan.
