Achievement Presentation of the Cross Century Embroidery and Creative Industry Development Plan: Ninth Avenue Embroidery Industry Flagship Exhibition
On 20 December 2006 (Wed), the Ministry of Education (MOE) organized the Achievement Presentation of the Cross Century Embroidery and Creative Industry Development Plan: Ninth Avenue Embroidery Industry Flagship Exhibition for the Global Embroidery Research and Development Center of Tainan University of Technology to present their achievements of Academic Year 2006. The wide variety of embroidery-derivative products displayed at the exhibition attracted the attention and interests of many industrialists.

52 works on God in embroidery
Feminist and domestic are the first impression on embroidery to most. Embroidery in modern time is no more family needlework but works of art asking for color matching, structure accordance and creativity. Instead of using water or oil colors as in paintings, embroidery uses embroidering threads. Moreover, it is a profession which allows people to learn concentration, focus and faith. Modern embroidery expresses the thoughts of embroiderers through design concepts, symbols, colors and even body language. It is an interdisciplinary science which combines embroidery, art and science.

Jewelry Embroidery
The jewelry embroidery includes a necklace and a pair of earrings made by Professor Zhang Mei-yuen of the Global Embroidery Research and Development Center with the first knitting technique in embroidery art therapy and becomes the beloved of most audiences. The handkerchief is made with the lost Byzantine technique to depict the future premium handkerchief embroidery industry in Taiwan.

The valley in the Taiwan in Metamorphosis is made with the bark of the melaleuca trees in Tainan University of Technology and the brick stitch to turn the sisal hemp into a cocoon. Embroidery Fan

The embroidery costume of the Lukai chief in the 19th century made with the canvas technique of Europe is sensational. The traditional cross stitch of modern indigenous people in Taiwan was an embroidery technique from Europe. It is a fact in front of us. After the uncompromised search of this center, we found 127 edge embroidery techniques of indigenous people among countless embroidery techniques of the Austronesian tribes and blended their mythologies and legends to this creative work.
