The 2013-2014 Taiwan Study Programme Chair at Leiden University: Open for Applications
To facilitate Taiwan-related study on a global scale, the Ministry of Education in Taiwan has jointly established the “Taiwanese Professorship Programme” with the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) at Leiden University, the Netherlands.

The 2013-2014 professorship will be open to applicants from all universities and research institutes in Taiwan, as a result of discussions between Mrs. Hueiwen Hsu, Director of Education Division at the Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium, Dr. Philippe Peycam, Director of IIAS,

Candidates whose research fields cover Taiwan, Eastern Asia and Chinese studies are welcome to apply. The Taiwan Study Chair will teach and conduct research at the Leiden University for 6 and 12 months (August 2013 to July 2014). The Ministry of Education in Taiwan and IIAS at Leiden University will sponsor business round-trip airfare tickets, living expenses, accommodation, office facilities, as well as expenses for one research conference.

Please submit applications (CVs both in Mandarin Chinese and English; one proposal in English) to the Education Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium at: edu@taipei-office.be. The deadlines are 30 June and 30 September for the beginning of the 2013-2014 academic year or the second semester respectively.
