The annual National Contact Point (NCP) meeting of the Marie Curie Actions Programme run by the Directorate-General - Education and Culture (DG EAC) of the European Commission was held in Brussels on November 20 and 21. Prof. Lin Ta-Hui and Dr. Li Yueh-Heng from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), and Prof. Michael Tanangkingsing from National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) attended the meeting. They were accompanied by Ms. Huei-wen Hsu, the Director of the Education Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the EU & Belgium. This was the first time that representatives of universities in Taiwan attended the Marie Curie Action Program as NCPs.
The meeting reviewed the achievements of the 2007-2013 FP7 and presented the soon to be launched Horizon 2020 and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions. These new programs will give non-EU member states more opportunities to undertake collaborations with EU educational institutions. The delegation of representatives from Taiwan discussed ways to further promote of the participation of universities in Taiwan in EU programs with Ms. Alessandra Luchetti. Ms Luchetti is Head of Unit – People Programme for the Marie Curie Actions.
