The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Participates in the Academic Mobility Fair 2016 - MOBE

The National University of Asuncion – Polytechnic College hosted the Academic Mobility Fair 2016 - MOBE on Friday, 22 April, from 10:30am until 8pm in the evening. The Polytechnic College invited ambassadors and representatives from different countries to set up stands at the education fair providing information about studying overseas.

The aim of the MOBE Fair was to make information about different mobility opportunities available to students of the National University of Asuncion. The activities included promoting academic programs in different countries, and giving information about undergraduate and graduate scholarships, the study-destination countries, the universities, organizations, and institutions involved, and the testimonies of scholarship students who had gone and studied abroad,

The Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Mr. Alexander Yui, the rector of the National University of Asuncion, Professor Abel Bernal Castillo, the dean of the Polytechnic College, Professor Teodoro Salas Coronel, and other international diplomatic personnel, and members of the educational and cultural community of Paraguay attended the opening ceremony of the education fair.

An Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) stand set up as part of the education fair provided information about "Study in Taiwan", and staff gave a presentation outlining the different academic opportunities available there. Members of the Paraguayan Taiwan Alumni Association joined in, by sharing details of their experience of studying abroad in Taiwan with the audience.

A happy note was the announcement that in the 2016 academic year courses in Mandarin Chinese will be taught in the Language Center of the Polytechnic College, as well as in the Philosophy College, and the Higher Institute of Languages of the National University of Asuncion.
