Press Conference Announcing Digital Assistance to Areas Affected by Typhoon Morakot
Political Deputy Minister Lin Tsong-ming on October 29 attended a press conference aimed at providing areas affected by Typhoon Morakot with digital assistance. At the conference, Acer, Asus, Intel Taiwan and Microsoft Taiwan pledged to provide 4,500 computers and software. Under the auspices of the Red Cross Society of the Republic of China, Taiwan Association for Educational Communications and Technology, Ministry of Education and relevant organizations, these firms were to provide schools and communities in the seven cities/counties affected by Typhoon Morakot with computer software and hardware, provide teachers with training, and provide information service stations, in an effort to aid future educational and community development.
