Education Division of TECRO attended the 4th EducationUSA Forum to inform U.S. representatives about Taiwan’s higher education system
The 4th annual EducationUSA Forum was held at the Washington Hilton Conference Center in Washington D.C. on June 26, 2013. The forum was hosted by U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the EducationUSA. Over 500 representatives of U.S. colleges and universities and over 50 EducationUSA advisers and regional educational advising coordinators (REACs) discused current issues, and trends in higher education, recruitment, and international cooperation.

The annual EducationUSA Forum provides opportunities to engage with both the EducationUSA network and with the wider U.S. higher education community. This year’s forum featured more than 60 thematic sessions on pertinent issues in the field of international higher education; regional sessions on student mobility and funding trends; and a Global Showcase for EducationUSA advisers, educational attachés from the D.C. Embassy community, representatives of U.S. higher education institutions, and 14 EducationUSA REACs and 42 EducationUSA Advisers from across the globe.

The most popular session of the forum was the Global Showcase in which embassies in D.C. joined EducationUSA advisers from different countries to showcase their higher education, to inform U.S. higher education representatives about their country’s education system and student sponsorship programs, and to promote exchange and study opportunities with universities in different countries. The Education Division of TECRO and Taiwan’s EducationUSA and Development Coordinator, invited by the U.S. Department of State, shared the latest developments in Taiwan’s education with U.S. higher education representatives. Taiwan and the U.S. have developed a closer, more collaborative educational relationship, and the representatives are looking forward to forging educational partnerships which promote educational and academic exchanges between them, and more generally further strengthening the bilateral relationship and friendship.
