Tamkang University President Dr. Flora Chia- I Chang, visits Paraguay
Dr. Flora Chia- I Chang, President of Tamkang University, lead a group of Scholars to visit the Republic of Paraguay from April 24 to 28, 2014. Dr. Chang had an audience with Mr. Juan Afara, the Vice President of Paraguay, she and the delegation also met with Mr. Juan Bartolome Ramírez, President of the House of Representatives of Paraguay. They exchanged views on strengthening academic and cultural exchanges between Paraguay and Taiwan.

A highlight of the visit was the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between Tamkang University and the National University of Asunción (UNA) of Paraguay. The university Rector Dr. Pedro Gerardo González gave Dr. Chang and her colleagues a warm welcome and praised the high quality of teaching and research at Tamkang University.

Speaking at the signing ceremony Dr. Chang emphasized that this Cooperation Agreement formally establishes a bond of friendship and sisterhood between the National University of Asunción and Tamkang University that will contribute to expanding opportunities for both students and professors to make academic contributions and pursue excellence.
