Orientation for latest Swedish recipients of Huayu Enrichment Scholarships
An orientation for the Swedish recipients of a Huayu Enrichment Scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year was held by the Education Division of the Taipei Mission in Sweden in August, as they do each year.

This year the recipients are from three different cities in Sweden: Stockholm, Linkoping, and Arvika. Mr. Chen Yu-Lin, secretary of the Education Division of the Taipei Mission in Sweden, gave the students who would be heading off to study in Taiwan useful information about their Huayu Enrichment Scholarships. This included details of visa and visa extensions, and that it was illegal to work while they were there on their scholarships.

Mr. Chen also urged everyone at the orientation to join the Taiwan Alumni Association in Sweden. The Education Division is encouraging more Swedish students to study in Taiwan and wants to maintain good interactions with all the alumni in the future.

Magnus Hallen received a Huayu Enrichment Scholarship in 2010 and spent a full year studying and living in Taiwan, and he also attended and shared details of his experience. He was quick to assure this year’s recipients that Taiwan is a very good place to go to, mentioning many aspects, including Taiwan’s very friendly people and historical culture.
