Meeting of Taiwan Scholarship Students in Paraguay

The National University of Asuncion was the venue for a meeting held on July 25, 2014, organised by the Embassy of the Republic the China (Taiwan) in Paraguay to bring together scholarship students.

The 23 students were going to travel to Taiwan to study at Taiwanese universities as recipients of various scholarships offered by the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, through different scholarship programs. These include the Taiwan Scholarships, Huayu Enrichment Scholarships, and the ICDF Master’s Degree and Bachelor of Medicine scholarship programs.

The ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Mr. Liu Der-Li, hosted the meeting. The guests included officials from the local Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and from the School of Medical Sciences of the National University of Asuncion, and alumni who had previously won scholarships and studied in Taiwan.

The students received general information about Taiwan and about its education system and details of everyday life in the country. During the meeting, they had a welcome opportunity to try some Taiwanese traditional dishes as an introduction to their future life in Taiwan.
