Taiwan Signs Educational Cooperation and Exchange Agreement with Flemish Community of Belgium
This is the first time that Taiwan and a Belgian governmental authority have signed an agreement covering compulsory education, higher education, adult education, language education, and vocational education and training. This significant event was organized by the Flemish Department of Education and Training, with support from the Flemish Department of Foreign Affairs, and witnessed by guests from universities, language schools, and other partners active in the education field. The ceremony was followed by a celebratory reception and an exchange of gifts.
When the future implementation of the MOU was discussed at a preliminary meeting before the signing ceremony, the Flemish Community emphasized the need to give priority to subjects such as teacher training, quality assurance and language, mathematics, and science and technology education. A working group was scheduled to be established in September to begin putting the MOU into practice.
