Taiwan Students win 2 silver medals in ACA and MOS’s World Championships
A group of 13 students from Taiwan, supported by the Taiwan Information Integration Association, competed among the 123 finalists from 41 countries in the 2014 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship and among the 32 finalists from 17 countries in the Adobe Certified Associate World Championship on July 28 and 29, 2014 at Disneyland in California.

Having so many students reach the finals was an impressive achievement in itself. The Taiwanese students then went on to win two silver medals and a bronze 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.

Lin Chou-Je, a student at Yu Da University of Science and Technology was awarded second place in the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship. The 123 finalists were chosen from more than 400,000 competitors.

In the Adobe Certified Associate World Championship Kao Jui-Hung, a student at Taipei College of Maritime Technology, and Lin Siou-Yuan a student at Taipei Chengshih University of Science & Technology won second and third place respectively The 32 finalists were chosen from more than 60,000 competitors from 17 countries. The gold medal winner was a college student from Macau. It was a really wonderful surprise to hear that 2 of the top 3 winners are from Taiwan. On top of that Kao Jui-Hung was also honored as the people’s first choice.

After the announcements at the award ceremony, Dr. Liang Li-ling, director of the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles presented a congratulatory telegram from Dr. Chen Deu-Hua, who was acting Minister of Education. She encouraged them to continue to forge ahead in this field, and wished them a good trip back to Taiwan.
