The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia cooperated with the Alumni Association of Taiwan Universities in Johor to organize four “Study in Taiwan” workshops in mid-November, in order to allow tutors, parents, and students to have a better understanding of opportunities for studying in Taiwan,

The first of the workshops was held in Johor Baru. Teachers from Foon Yew High School, Foon Yew High School’s Kulai Campus, and Pei Chun High School (Pontian), and the counsellors from the Alumni Association were all invited to participate in the workshop. Mr. Chu To-Ming, the Director of the Education Division in Malaysia, shared a lot of useful information with the participants about the current regulations concerning going to and studying in Taiwan and about applying to a university there.

Similar workshops were also held in Batu Pahat, Kluang, and Muar in the following days, and parents and students from Yong Ping High School; the Chinese High School in Batu Pahat; Chong Hwa High School in Kluang; and Chung Hwa High School in Muar all seized the chance to help them make the best choice for the students’ future.

At each workshop, the Education Division provided the audience with details of the living expenses, tuition fees, and the study environment in Taiwan, as well as speaking about the latest regulations, and the various scholarships available. The next round of workshops was scheduled to be held in Sarawak at the end of November.
