National Ping Tung University of Science and Technology delegation visits Belgium and the Netherlands to enhance international cooperation
A delegation of 5 high-ranking people from National Ping Tung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), led by Professor Tai Chang-Hsien, the university president visited Ghent University in Belgium and Wageningen University and Research Center in the Netherlands, from June 8-12. These both enjoy a reputation for excellence in the fields of agriculture and technology. Their purpose of the visit was to establish mechanisms for NPUST to undertake academia-industry collaboration and share practical experiences with these universities, and to promote more international cooperation on teaching in the green energy and agriculture fields.

At Ghent University the delegation was welcomed by the Vice-Rector, Professor Freddy Mortier. They visited the Faculty of Bio-Engineering, the Department of Food Safety and Food Quality, the Food2Know Centre of Excellence, Zwijnaarde Technology Park, and the TechTransfer department. At Wageningen University, they met academic staff from the Agrotechnology and Food Sciences Group, and from the Department of Greenhouse Technology. Ms. Hsu Huei-wen the Director of the Taipei Representative Office’s Education Division accompanied the delegation to both universities, and she arranged a meeting with the Taiwan Student Association at Wageningen University and Research Center.
