Dr. Per Westman, the Head of Strategic Planning of Swedish Higher Education Authority visited Taiwan for the 2015 Taiwan Study Seminar for EU officials.

Dr. Per Westman, the Head of Strategic Planning in the Swedish Higher Education Authority, was invited by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan to join the 2015 Taiwan Study Seminar for EU officials. Mr. Frank Chen, the Acting Director of the Education Division at the Taipei Mission in Sweden had a meeting with Dr. Westman before his departure to Taiwan to give him more information about the seminar and what he might expect in Taiwan.

This is the first time that a Swedish education official has joined in the annual Taiwan Study Seminar held in Taiwan for EU officials. This trip will give Dr. Westman an opportunity to establish a relationship with our education officials and exchange details of their working experience, and learn more about Taiwan’s higher education sector, as well as interacting with other EU education officials also participating in the 2015 Taiwan Study Seminar.

Frank Chen intends to hold follow discussions with Dr. Westman after he returns from Taiwan about further possible cooperation between Sweden and Taiwan. He also plans to encourage more Swedish officials to visit Taiwan.
