Director Lin (林世英) attends Japan’s 40th National Educational Conference

Lin Shih-Yin (林世英) the director of the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Tokyo was invited to take part in Japan’s 40th National Education Conference, held on October 2nd and 3rd, 2015 at Saga. Director Lin was also invited to make an opening speech.

During his address, he thanked the senior director and secretary general, Mr. Takizawa (瀧澤雅彥) and then spoke about the increased educational interaction that Japan and Taiwan have had with each other in these last years. For example, 9,692 students from 237 secondary schools in Taiwan visited Japan in 2014 on secondary school international education fieldtrips. And 19,954 students from 168 secondary schools in Japan visited Taiwan for educational purposes.

Director Lin said that he looked forward to having more Japanese students visit Taiwan with the support from the principals and the teachers attending this year’s National Education Conference. He emphasized that Taiwan and Japan have a special and strong bond, and that it is important to continue developing interaction between Japan and Taiwan in the education field. International education activities and strengthening the interactions between students and teachers are particularly valuable.

During the conference, Director Lin also had an opportunity to discuss educational issues and education research with Mr. Hakui (伯井美德) from Monbunkagakusho (文部科學省) and Mr. Yamaguchi (山口祥義), the mayor of Saga Prefecture (佐賀縣).
