Deputy Minister Lin Teng-Chiao Visits Ho Chi Minh City

The students were all vocational high school students from Taiwan who each have a parent originally from Vietnam, and the purpose of their visit was to allow them to experience Vietnamese culture, and the Vietnamese language, and to gain some experience of working with Taiwanese companies there.

During his visit to Ho Chi Minh City, the Deputy Minister visited the High School for the Gifted affiliated with Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City; the Southern Office of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training; Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee; Lawrence S. Ting Memorial School; and Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City.

Members of the delegation also visited many Taiwanese companies: CSVC; Cong Ty lien Doanh Company; DDK Group; Hue Phong Footwear Co., Ltd.; Luxgen Motors in Binh Duong; Phu My Hung Corporation; VEDAN; and Vung Tau Paradise Joint-Venture Company. Dr. Lin also attended a meeting with the heads of different branches of the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam (CTCCV) to discuss possibilities of future industrial cooperation.

On the last day of his visit, Dr. Lin attended the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship award ceremony and presented this year’s scholarship winners with their awards.
This was a fitting end to a very busy and productive visit to Ho Chi Minh City.
