Taiwan attends the 2016 Korea Study Abroad and Immigration Fair
The 2016 Korea Study Abroad and Immigration Fair was held on October 1 and 2 at the COEX Exhibition Center in Seoul. A 22-member delegation consisting of vice presidents, International Student Office administrators, and teachers from eleven universities came to participate in this event: Chinese Culture University (中國文化大學), Feng Chia University(逢甲大學), Hsing Wu University (醒吾科技大學), Hungkuang University (弘光科技大學), Kun Shan University (崑山科技大學), Nanhua Univerity (南華大學), National Chung Hsing University (國立中興大學), Shih Chien University (實踐大學),Taipei Medical University (台北醫學大學), Tamkang University (淡江大學), Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages (文藻外語大學).
The Korea Study Abroad and Immigration Fair is the largest event for Korean students who are interested in studying abroad so it was very encouraging to see the universities from Taiwan taking part again, for the first time in several years, thereby providing Korean students with more options to consider.
The Taiwan exhibition group was organized by the International Division of Chinese Culture University and the delegation was led by Prof. Lin Bor-Shan (林柏杉), Dean of International and Mainland China Affairs. Prof. Lin reported that during the 2-day exhibition more than 400 Korean students came to the booths in the Taiwan Area, asking for information and expressing interest in studying in Taiwan. He is confident that there will be more and more Korean students going to Taiwan for advanced studies.
In addition to attending the fair, the delegation also visited Hanyang University (漢陽大學), Kyung Hee University (慶熙大學), and Dongduk Women’s University (同德女子大學) to discuss cooperation in various possible fields and to have tours of each campus. They were impressed by the beautiful campuses and advanced facilities of the universities.
