The 12th “Studyworld” higher education fair took place on May 12 and May 13, 2017 in the German capital Berlin. This is the only higher education fair in Germany covering a full range of topics, such as international bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, internships and career planning, Continuing education, international student programs, internships abroad, education and career planning, and scholarship opportunities.Exhibitors from more than 20 countries participated in this education fair, spread out at 150 booths, and presented information about their universities, exchange programs, training programs for educational and vocational targets, and diverse funding opportunities to students. A number of keynote speeches focused on study abroad, lifelong learning, international study programs, and Internships abroad, and attracted many students.
Around 8,000 visitors attended this year’s education fair: school and university students, as well as many job-seeking graduates, teachers, apprentices, and professional technicians and engineers were all interested in this international education event to obtain useful firsthand information about possible future training and education in line with their different interests.
According to statistics, more than 50% of German students of a graduate school or higher level had overseas study experiences, and 63% of international entrepreneurs value such international knowledge and prefer applicants with such experience on their curriculum vitae.
The Education Division at the Taipei Representative Office in Germany has been taking part in the “Studyworld” fair for three years now. On average, more than 500 persons visited the Taiwan booth each year.
