2017 Study in Taiwan Fair in Japan
On the 18th of June 2017, Director Lin (林組長世英) attended the 2017 Study in Taiwan Fair, held in Mito Keisei Hotel in Mito City (水戶市水戶京成飯店) in Ibaraki Prefecture (茨城縣). The fair included an educational exchange seminar. Forty-seven people from 19 educational institutions in Taiwan attended, including members of National Taiwan University (國立臺灣大學), National Cheng Kung University (國立成功大學), and Tamkang University (淡江大學) and a delegation of seventeen people from the Ibaraki Prefectural Government led by Mr. Ono (小野瀬篤郎), also attended the seminar.

Director Lin thanked all the people from Taiwan who were participating in the study fair, especially staff at Tamkang University for arranging and planning it, and he expressed his gratitude to members of the Ibaraki Prefectural Government for their assistance and stated that he was looking forward to future educational exchanges.

During his opening speech, Director Lin said that he had also had the experience of studying in Japan as an international student, so he understood the experience and the effect that it could have on students. He hoped that the students who attended this event would all consider studying in Taiwan as a first option: studying in Taiwan would give them an opportunity to learn about a different culture and gain international experiences, and they could plan to undertake further study abroad in other countries afterwards.

Director Lin also pointed out that the relationship between Taiwan and Japan was very strong, and he therefore hoped that Japanese students who had studied in Taiwan would contribute to future Taiwan–Japan relations.
