National Central Library Holds Taiwan Lectures on Chinese Studies in Malaysia
The talk, co-organized by the Center of Chinese Studies at the National Central Library in Taiwan and the University of Malaya Library, was held at the University of Malaya Library on November 23, 2017. It was given by Professor Chiu Kuei-fen, a distinguished professor of Taiwan Literature and Transnational Cultural Studies at National Chung Hsing University, on the topic of Taiwan Literature and World Literature, and attracted more than 40 participants. Professor Chiu inspired the audience as she shared her views on Taiwan literature within the context of world literature.
This is the fourth talk that the Center of Chinese Studies at the National Central Library has organized abroad this year to promote Chinese studies, and encourage cooperation and exchanges between Sinologists in Taiwan and abroad.
Malaysian scholars working in the Chinese studies field were also invited to participate in a Malaysian Chinese Literature and Taiwan exhibition at UTAR from November 25 to December 21, 2017, and a two-day international conference on Sinophone and Writing Southeast Asia: Literary and Cultural Representations from Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore will take place at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman on December 25 and 26, 2017.
