Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City organizes “Taiwan Vietnam Mandarin Teachers Conference”
This was the first conference to which the Mandarin teachers sent by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, teachers in the Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City, and also Mandarin teachers and the directors of Chinese departments in universities in Vietnam were invited to attend. It was set up with hopes that the attendees could build up partnerships and assist each other with teaching methodology and teaching materials on one hand, and conquering difficulties in everyday lives, and alleviating homesickness on the other.
The Education Division explained the Mandarin teachers’ mission and told the teachers from Taiwan about the Vietnam government regulations pertaining to them. An overview of Taiwan’s educational system and the New Southbound policy was given to allow the Mandarin teachers and directors of Chinese departments at Vietnamese universities to better understand Taiwan’s education policies.
The Education Division also organized a small workshop for teachers to discuss the difficulties they are facing in teaching Mandarin and new teaching methodologies and teaching materials to help address their challenges.
The conference was very successful. It attracted approximately 80 people who reported that they found it very practical.
