London Overseas Chinese School holds Chinese Language Proficiency Test Certificate Award Ceremony

The London Overseas Chinese School hosted a graduation ceremony on June 24, 2018 and awarded certificates and transcripts for the Children's Chinese Competency Certification, (CCCC), to the children who had successfully passed the examination. The CCCC test has been held at the school each year since 2016.

A total of 23 candidates participated in the test on June 3, and the students, parents and Mandarin teachers attending the ceremony were delighted to learn that all the school’s pupils taking part in the test this year had passed. Ms. Ying Wen, principal of the London Overseas Chinese School, praised the impressive results achieved by her pupils. Mr. Ouyang Yen-Heng, Director of the Education Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the UK, was invited to attend the event as a guest of honour and on behalf of the Ministry of Education he offered his congratulations to the school and his encouragement to the pupils.

The CCCC is designed for non-native Chinese learners aged from seven to twelve years old. The test questions are based on everyday situations and practical principles, in accordance with children’s cognitive and language development. Candidates can apply to sit a test level corresponding to the length of time they have been learning Mandarin and the level of vocabulary attained.
