Taichung in Taiwan has a Friendship City relationship with Cupertino in California. Californian schools are planning to reopen in the fall, and masks are a key protective item, so the Cupertino–Taichung Friendship Cities (CTFC) group donated 5,000 medical masks to Fremont Union High School District. “This school district and the Education Bureau of Taichung City have had a strong connection for a few years, and they organize projects for student exchanges” said Tsai Pin-Pin, the CTFC president.

Polly Bove, Superintendent of the Fremont Union School District, received the mask delivery on July 7 and expressed her appreciation.

As the Fremont Union High Schools Foundation Hung Wei VP Hung Wei explained, the school district remained open to provide service even during the shelter-in-place period, when students were learning at home and masks are always in high demand.
