Kochi Medical School at Kochi University Will Provide Internship Opportunities for Taiwanese Students
Kochi Medical School at Kochi University in Japan and Jenteh Junior College of Medicine, Nursing and Management in Taiwan held an online conference on October 12 to confirm that Kochi Medical School will accept students from Jenteh Junior College of Medicine, Nursing and Management to undertake internships at the hospital affiliated with Kochi Medical School and discuss details.
Professor Michiya Kobayashi is the director of Cancer Treatment Center, Kochi Medical School Hospital and also the vice chairman of the Japan–Taiwan Friendship Association. And he has therefore closely interacted with the Taipei Economic and Cultural office in Osaka. This year, the Cultural and Educational Affairs Attaché put forward the proposal for such a collaboration and Kochi University reached a preliminary consensus with Jenteh Junior College of Medicine, Nursing and Management to provide opportunities for students to undertake one-month overseas internships at the hospital affiliated with Kochi Medical School. These will begin in 2021.
A formal agreement to strengthen the cooperation and exchanges between the two educational institutions in the medical field will be signed during a video conference, and the agreement will then be gradually implemented for a period of three years.
